If you require long term medication you must be established on it before the GP will authorise a repeat prescription through reception.
You will then require regular review and you will be informed when this is due.
You can order repeat prescriptions as follows:
Allow 96 hours (4 surgery working days) processing time for the prescription to be ready. If you would like your prescription posted back to you please allow 5 surgery working days and provide us with a stamped addressed envelope for this purpose.
If you are participating in one of the chemist collection services please advise us of this.
Wasted Medications – please be mindful when ordering your prescriptions and only order what you require
We are now able to offer patients, who are on repeat medications that rarely change, the opportunity to pick up your regular repeat prescription items at your community pharmacy without having to request a new prescription each time. Patients must be approved for this service by their GP and register with their preferred pharmacy.
If suitable for this service, we will issue you with serial prescriptions which will cover treatment for 24 or 48 weeks at a time. The Pharmacist will dispense your medicines usually at 56 day intervals and monitor your progress during this period. If any problems arise, the Pharmacist can refer you back to us at any point.
Patients who are unlikely to be suitable for the scheme are those taking specific drugs which require close monitoring, patients with complex medical history, those on multiple medications, those who have had recent changes to medication and patients who take medication on a when required basis.
