Minor Injuries When the Insch War Memorial Hospital was closed, we also lost our local access to a minor injury unit. This service is now accessible through calling NHS24 on 111 and choosing the minor injury option. This is a 24hrs a day / 7 days a week service.
Women living in Aberdeenshire are now able to self refer to the Termination service at Health Village, Aberdeen.
Their average waiting time from phone call to assessment clinic is 4 days

Our reception team will take your name and some basic information about your request. They will then be able to direct you to the clinician best placed to deal with your ailment or query.
Some clinicians work from this Medical Practice and we may also signpost you to colleagues who work at other locations.
Teaching Practice Notice
Please be aware that we are a recognised training practice and regularly support the education of both GP Specialist Registrars (qualified doctors undertaking specialist training in General Practice) and medical students (students training to become doctors).
We would be grateful if you would consider accepting appointments with these members of our clinical team when offered. With your consent, some consultations may also be video recorded for educational purposes as part of their training and assessment.
Your support plays an important role in helping the next generation of doctors gain the experience and skills they need to provide high-quality patient care in the future. All consultations undertaken by GP Registrars and medical students are appropriately supervised and reviewed by an experienced GP Partner to ensure safe and effective patient care at all times.

Continuity of care
If you have discussed the issue with a GP previously or prefer to speak to a specific GP then please tell the receptionist and they will be able to let you know when that GP’s first appointment is (not necessarily that same day).
All requests for Home Visits WILL BE TELEPHONE TRIAGED BY A GP
A doctor may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
To order your repeat prescriptions online. Please complete this registration form. online services patient form. and email the completed form to gram.inschadministrator@nhs.scot. We will then provide you with a registration voucher which will allow you to set up your online account. Once your account is set up, you can quickly order your medication 24hrs a day, 7 days a week and access this service from this link. Login – Patient Services

Requests for repeat prescriptions can also be made by calling the Repeat Prescription Line 01464 -821512 and recording a message.
You do not need to see a Doctor to obtain a repeat prescription.
If the Doctor has a query regarding your prescription request he/she will get in touch with you.
With the exception of acute prescriptions such as antibiotics, the standard time allowed by the Practice to action your request is THREE WORKING DAYS. Please note Saturday and Sunday are not classed as practice working days.
The Local community pharmacists ( NS Wilson and Wills) also require time to order medication, make up and check the prescription before it is ready for collection. Please leave ONE WEEK between ordering your REPEAT prescription with the Practice and picking it up from the Chemist.
Please be aware that the first 7 days ( including non working days) of your absence from work are covered with a self certificate. Your employer will normally have a self certificate form for you to complete. If not, you can access a generic form from the link below. GPs are unable to complete a fitnote before 7 days. If you are absent for more than 7 days then you can request a Fitnote by completing this form

This form is for patients to request a copy of their medical information. This request can take up to 30 days, all information requested will be emailed to you in a pdf format to the email address given with a protected password. For a hospital letters you will need to go back to the department where you where seen in.

The Community Nursing Team within the Garioch Health & Community Care Team cover a wide geographical area and have administrative bases at Insch, Inverurie, Kemnay and Westhill. The nurses all have a specific interest in working in the community and have a range of personal specialist interests in areas such as cancer, diabetes, asthma, sexual health and the elderly. The nurses work closely with Health Visiting, Care Managers, Home Care Supervisors, GPs and GP Practice Nurses and hospital staff. If someone has a specific health problem the nurses will set up care plans to help them achieve and maintain better health and well-being.

The Health Visiting team includes trainee Health Visitors, immunisation nurses and Diane Robertson, nursery nurse. The Health Visiting team focus their activity on children, the family and their family groups within the community. Their caseload is mainly the under 5 year olds. The service offers advice on coping skills for parents, along with general advice, support, and access to resources around child and family health/social issues and often includes referral to other members of the multi-disciplinary care team. The health visitors offer regular Baby Clinics, Child Vaccination Clinics, Baby Massage, First Aid for Under 5s and other parent support/training groups in the health centre.

Scotland’s Mental Health first aid – Young people
SMHFA: YP was developed to meet the increasing demand for a similar type approach for adults who support or care for young people aged between 11 and 17. SMHFA: YP is a 14-hour blended course which is designed to support all adults to recognise mental health problems and provide guidance and immediate assistance to a young person in crisis. SMHFA: YP was launched in 2013.

MindtheMen was started in memory of Grant Macdonald who we lost to suicide in 2018.The clubs are safe places where men (18+) are able to talk about their challenges with other men in a non-clinical setting. True peer to peer support. Sadly suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 in Scotland. In 2018 75% of people who died by suicide were men with many never being able to talk about how they were feeling.
